In Loving Memory
Higher Africa Institute has joined hands with The Ephrem Harris Foundation to honor the legacy of a rising star who left too soon. This initiative focuses on supporting the dreams of young athletes across the nation of Liberia through the development of a Sports Complex & Recreation Center.
In the heart of all who knew him, Ephrem Harris left a vision of triumph, dedication, and relentless perseverance. At just 18 years and 21 days old, Ephrem made an indelible mark on his loved ones before his untimely death as the result of his battle with germ cell cancer. His story is one of extraordinary bravery, an unyielding spirit, and a legacy that is destined to live on beyond his short years.
A significant part of his journey was his commitment and passion for sports, specifically football and track and field. He began his football career at the young age of six years old and started track beginning in elementary school until climaxing his sports journey during his attendance at Archbishop Ryan High School. Named the Track and Field 2023 Rookie of the Year at his high school, he excelled in the world of sports as well as academia. His performance on the field set the stage for a bright future. Scouts quickly recognized his potential, leading to an exciting opportunity to play football at Texas Tech University. His journey from high school standout to a future collegiate athlete was a testament to his hard work and dedication.
Despite the challenges he faced, Ephrem remained a source of inspiration, embodying the true spirit of endurance. That endurance is an integral component of true sportsmanship. In honor of his remarkable life and in a commitment to his enduring legacy, his mother, Rose Joy Karmoh, has determined to establish a Sports Complex and Recreational Facility in her home country of Liberia, which will include programs such as track and field, basketball, and gymnastics, in his memory.
We urge you to keep his legacy alive with her, by contributing donations, love offerings, and support. You can do this as a one time donation or a monthly donation until this is facility is built. Your financial support keeps his memory with us for years beyond his short time here on Earth.
We appreciate your support in honoring Ephrem’s life.
